asked the Minister for the Environment when a final inspection will be carried out and approval given in respect of a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

: A final inspection will be carried out as soon as possible. Approval to the grant and subsidy have been issued to the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying an improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: This grant has been paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a £1,000 new house grant and mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. The file is with the inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant. The mortgage subsidy payments may not commence until the grant is paid and the other conditions of the scheme are complied with.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying an improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: A grant cannot be paid in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the relevant scheme, the work was not completed or or before 31 December 1978.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding an application for a £1,000 new house grant and a mortgage interest subsidy grant by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

: Under the terms of Article 11 (1) (b) of the Housing Regulations, 1980, a grant cannot be paid in this case as the applicant was in occupation of the house for more than one year prior to the receipt of his application in my Department.

: This grant will be paid shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a £1,000 new house grant immediately to persons (details supplied) in County Kerry as their house has been occupied for the past year.

: An inspection of this house in October 1982 revealed that it was not completed. The applicant was advised at that time to notify my Department when his house was completed and occupied. A further inspection has now been arranged with a view to payment of the grant.
