asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a telephone service was disconnected in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow as his account has been paid up-to-date.

: The telephone account in this case was issued on 4 January 1983 and a final notice was issued on 1 March indicating that if payment was not received within seven days service would be disconnected. As payment had not reached the Department by end March arrangements were made accordingly. Service was restored on 13 April following receipt of payment.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in County Dublin applied for a telephone service; the reason for the delay in providing service; and when it will be provided.

: It has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named, who applied on 11 March 1980, because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the 01 area.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the special circumstances of the case.

: It is expected that service will be provided for the person named within about six months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will correct a telephone account for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford as his two most recent telephone accounts are almost treble the normal account even though less usage is now being made of the service.

: The complaint made by the subscriber is still being investigated. If a mistake was made it will be rectified.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a public telephone service in an area (details supplied) at Tachumshane in County Wexford which because of the location is being discriminated against.

: The provision of a kiosk at this location is still not regarded as warranted at present and it is not proposed, therefore, to provide one there.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will as a matter of urgency provide a telephone service for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who requires it for business purposes.

: Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin.

: Service will be provided for the person named as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a business telephone line will be provided for a company (details supplied) in County Dublin in view of the damage which the lack of telephone facilities is causing to the company.

: Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that dispensary doctors in South Connemara, County Galway, have complained of the danger to the lives of their patients because of the lack of an efficient telephone service in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

: Specific complaints from dispensary doctors in South Connemara have not been made to my Department. The service in the area is reasonable at present though there may be some delays in trunk calls through manual exchanges.

The telephone service in the Clifden area will be improved shortly when a new radio link between Galway and Clifden comes into service in June next.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state following the request of the Raheen Residents' Association, Tallaght, County Dublin, whether arrangements will be made as a matter of priority to replace the existing defective public telephone kiosk at Raheen Avenue with the new type of pay telephone kiosk; and if arrangements will be made to concrete and surface the area surrounding the kiosk.

: The question of replacing the existing kiosk at Raheen Avenue with an aluminium type kiosk and renovating the area surrounding its location is being examined. The Deputy will be communicated with when this examination is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will investigate as a matter of urgency the telephone account received by a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will have the account corrected at the earliest possible date.

: The accounts were rechecked and were found to be correct as issued.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Cork as she is on invalidity pension and requires a telephone for emergency purposes.

: A survey is being carried out to ascertain when it will be possible to provide service for the person named. The applicant will be contacted as soon as the survey is completed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application has been made for some time.

: It has not been possible to trace an application on behalf of the person named. If the Deputy can furnish additional information e.g. when and where the application was made, further efforts will be made to trace it.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange to have a telephone service provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application has been made for some time.

: Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

It had been expected that necessary engineering work to enable service to be provided would be completed earlier.

Regrettably this was not possible because of the need to divert staff to other urgent work.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if all three mobile telephone exchanges at Somerville Avenue, Crumlin, Dublin 12, are now in operation; and the areas these exchanges service.

: Two mobile telephone exchanges are in operation at Somerville Avenue and a third will be brought into service next September. The areas served are Crumlin, Drimnagh and Walkinstown.

732.

asked the Minister for Post and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12.

: Service will be provided for the person named within about a month.
