asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.
: There are two grants involved, a land improvement grant approved in 1978 and a farm building grant approved in 1982.
In the case of the land improvement scheme, the local office of the Department has not yet been notified by the applicant that the work has been completed. When notification is received a final inspection will be carried out and if the work is satisfactorily completed the grant will be paid without delay. This grant is payable only if the work is completed and the Farm Development Service notified to that effect by 1 June 1983.
Payment of the farm building grant is awaiting notification from the applicant that outstanding items of work have been completed. This grant will be paid at the lower rate if the building is not completed and the Farm Development Service notified to that effect by 1 June 1983.

: The grant will be paid on completion of certain necessary documentary formalities regarding which the local farm development service office will be in touch with the applicant.

: The person named had no registered flock number for payment purposes but an officer of my Department will call on him shortly to arrange for registration. When this is done, he will be paid the first instalment of the 1982-83 ewe premium without further delay.
