Vol. 342 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

593.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will ensure that an inspection of a house (details supplied) in County Laois is carried out immediately with a view to payment of a new house grant.

A new house grant has been approved in this case. The file is with the inspector for investigation and report with a view to the payment of the grant.

594.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford as his circumstances warranted a start before the inspector called to view the work; and if he will give special consideration in view of the circumstances.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

595.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application in this case has been cancelled as a grant under the disabled persons scheme has been paid by Wexford County Council in respect of the works in question. The applicant has been so informed.

596.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been completed with. Payment of the mortgage subsidy cannot commence until the grant has been paid.

The applicant's file has been referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to approval of the grant and mortgage subsidy.
