The relevant tenders and a Local Loans Fund loan of £786,000 have been sanctioned for the Athenry sewerage scheme and I have made provision for the funding of expenditure in the initial capital allocation of £1,900,000 for major sanitary services schemes made to Galway County Council on 15 March 1983.
I understand that the county council have deferred commencement of the scheme pending the outcome of certain legal proceedings related to the securing of wayleaves for the scheme.
