Vol. 342 No. 3

Written Answers. - Group Water Schemes.

604.

asked the Minister for the Environment the progress made on the group water scheme at Ballaugh, Abbeyfeale, County Limerick.

The group were advised by the Department's inspector in June 1982 to go ahead with arrangements to have a design for the scheme prepared. The submission of this design is awaited.

605.

asked the Minister for the Environment the progress made on the group water scheme at Temple-glantine, County Limerick.

The Templeglatine group water scheme which was carried out in three parts was completed in June 1975 serving 101 houses and associated farms.

I understand that there have been problems with the source of supply for the scheme but that these have been temporarily solved by the group linking in to an additional well. Meanwhile, the Department's local inspector has discussed with the group the linking of their scheme to the Abbeyfeale public water supply scheme via the proposed Dromtrasna group water scheme and they have been advised to have plans prepared for this proposal.

606.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a decision to approve Rathcroghan group water scheme, County Roscommon, has been made; and if he will give details of the amount approved.

Work commenced on the scheme in July 1981. State Grants totalling £111,600 have been allocated of which £87,720 has been paid to date. Further payments will be made on foot of the State Grants as work progresses on the scheme. The local authority's proposal for the raising of a loan of £50,000 to enable them to make a special contribution towards the cost of the scheme which was received in the Department last week is under consideration.
