Vol. 342 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

838.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that persons (details supplied) in County Limerick were advised by the local agricultural inspector to proceed with farm development projects at their farm with a view to providing a pipeline, dairy and a roadway on the firm definite understanding that grants amounting to £1,200 would be paid to them; and if he is further aware that the work on these projects had been completed for about four months; and, if so, when the grant will be paid.

As announced in the budget, grants under the farm modernisation scheme for buildings and fixed assets have been suspended until later in the year.

As approval had not issued in this case before the suspension came into effect on 10 February 1983, the application cannot be processed further. The applicant has been notified accordingly.

839.

The local office of the Department has not yet been notified by the applicant that the work has been completed. When notification is received a final inspection will be carried out and if the work is satisfactorily completed the grant will be paid without delay.

840.
