asked the Minister for Education the position regarding the application for a remedial teacher by a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if she is aware that a special case was made to one of her predecessors for such a teacher.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 871 and 873 together.
The application of boards of management for a shared remedial teaching post between St. Claire's national school, Tubberclaire, Glasson, Athlone, and Cornamaddy national school, Athlone, was sanctioned by my Department on 28 March 1983. Notification of this sanction issued to the respective chairmen of the school management boards on that date.
