Vol. 342 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport Application.

874.

asked the Minister for Education the reason free transport is being refused to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick, in view of the fact that her father has a medical card.

Where the parents or legal guardians of children are medical card holders, they may be excused the school transport contribution in respect of any of their children who are eligible for school transport and who attend school in the post-primary education centre serving the catchment area in which they reside.

The child in question lives less than three miles from her nearest post-primary school and will not therefore, be eligible for school transport.
