Vol. 342 No. 7

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

582.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12, who has been waiting for a telephone for three years can expect to have it installed as she is an old age pensioner, lives on her own most of the time and is not in good health,

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed before the end of this year.

594.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 whose telephone was disconnected because of the non-payment of the bill incurred by the previous tenant and which the current tenant now paid some four weeks ago.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 as she applied five years ago and paid the necessary installation fee.

It is expected that service will be provided for the person named within about a month. It had been expected that the necessary engineering work would be completed earlier but this was not possible because of the need to divert staff to other urgent work.
