Phase 1 of the mid-Galway regional water supply scheme is in progress at present and is due for completion in 1983. Preliminary proposals for phases 2 and 3 of the scheme were submitted to my Department in November and December 1981. In response to these proposals the local authority were advised that preparation of contract documents for the further stages of the scheme would be premature because of insufficient demand by way of group water scheme development.
