I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an application for a refund of tax suffered under PAYE on the grounds of unemployment in this case was received by the inspector of taxes in July 1982. Additional information requested from the taxpayer by the inspector to clarify the position was only supplied on 6 May 1983 and a cheque in settlement of the claim will issue at an early date.
