asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when it is proposed to allocate the lines left by a company (details supplied) in Dublin who are no longer in business as there are people in the immediate area who have been waiting a number of years for telephone service.

My Department have not been advised by the company named that it is surrendering telephone service at the address quoted.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who paid for the installation of a telephone last January will have service provided.

When the person named was invited to sign an agreement and make advance payment it was expected that telephone service would be provided within about three months.

Regrettably this was not possible because of an unforeseen difficulty which arose at the local exchange.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone kiosk at Gibbstown, Donaghpatrick, Navan, County Meath, which was accidentally demolished will be replaced.

It had been planned to provide a kiosk at Kentstown. However, the programme for the provision of rural kiosks is under review at present in the light of the financial position generally and it is not possible at this stage to say when a kiosk may be provided at the location in question.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the end of this year.
