Vol. 342 No. 10

Written Answers. - Mayo National Schools.

701.

asked the Minister for Finance when the examination of the proposal to have water from the Attymass group water scheme provided for Attymass national school will be completed; and when a start will be made on the installation of the supply to the school.

The Department of Education early this month requested the Commissioners of Public Works to report on a proposal to connect Attymass national school to the local group water scheme.

An inspection will be carried out at an early date and the manager will be given any necessary advice in the matter. It will then be a matter for the manager to arrange for connection to the group scheme. The commissioners will report to the Department of Education on the question of a grant for the work.

702.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a statement on the position in respect of the preparation of plans, specification etc. for additional accommodation at the girls' national school, Crossmolina; and when it is expected that work will commence on the project which is extremely urgent.

It is expected that sketch plans for the proposed extension to the girls' national school at Crossmolina will be ready for transmission to the Department of Education in about six weeks time.

It is too early to say when building work will commence.
