Vol. 342 No. 10

Written Answers. - Inniskeen (Monaghan) New Garda Station

703.

asked the Minister for Finance when the Office of Public Works was first approached about finding a suitable location for a Garda station at Inniskeen, County Monaghan; and when it will be in a position to provide premises.

The Department of Justice first approached the Commissioners of Public Works on 3 February 1982 seeking a report on the suitability of a property at Inniskeen for use as a Garda station. The premises in question were found to be unsuitable but the commissioners are currently investigating another property in order to determine its suitability for this purpose. I cannot say at this juncture when accommodation can be provided for the gardaí at Inniskeen.
