asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allocate a further grant to the Meath County Council and/or North Eastern Health Board under the AnCO task force scheme to repair the homes of old people in County Meath, as the 1983 allocation of money has now been almost spent and further financial assistance is required immediately or otherwise up to 50 people will become unemployed.

The distribution of funds provided for the scheme of special housing aid for the elderly is a function of the task force set up to administer it. I understand that the level of the allocation made by the task force to the North-Eastern Health Board region is under review and that an early decision will be made in the matter.
