Vol. 343 No. 2

Written Answers. - Television Reception Interference.

529.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether complaints have been received regarding interference with television reception in the Mervue area of Galway city following erection of a radio telephone mast at the new telephone exchange in Mervue, County Galway; and if so, the action he proposes to take to restore normal television reception in that area.

Some complaints have been received regarding television reception in the Mervue area. As indicated in reply to a question on the subject on 13 July 1982 in the Official Report, Volume 337, column 2117, the corrective action to be taken where there is interference with television reception is primarily a matter for RTE. My Department will co-operate with RTE in any practicable way they can to resolve the problem.
