asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in relation to the last complete financial year for which figures are available, the amount expended by his Department or by agencies directly controlled or funded by his Department on press advertising in newspapers and magazines published in this country; and the amount expended with each newspaper or periodical concerned.

Information is not available in my Department on the amount expended on press advertising by bodies under the aegis of the Department. The placing of such advertisements is a matter for the bodies concerned. Following is the information for 1982 requested by the Deputy in relation to press advertising undertaken by my Department.
