Limerick East): In the Dublin Metropolitan District Court the number of orders made under the Housing (Private Rented Dwellings) Act, 1982, during the period 26 July 1982, when the Act was brought into force, to 31 May 1983, was 589 and there were 947 cases awaiting determination by the court. In a further 71 cases the applications were either dismissed, withdrawn or struck out.
The number of orders made in the provincial District Courts during the period 26 July 1982 to 9 May 1983, the latest date for which figures are available, was 263, while there were 98 cases awaiting determination. During that period 23 applications under the Act were either dismissed, withdrawn or struck out.
