(a) (1) the total number of farmers assessed to income tax in the year ended 5 April 1983 was 44,139. (2) The total number of individuals, other than farmers, assessed to income tax in the year ended 5 April 1983 was 133,225. (b) The total number of companies assessed to corporation tax in the year ended 5 April 1983 was 38,281. (c) The total number of individuals and companies registered for PAYE/PRSI at 30 April 1983 was 95,455. (d) The total number of individuals and companies registered for VAT at 30 April 1983 was 91,431.
