The existing arrangements for certification of unemployment claims in the Tallaght area of County Dublin are not satisfactory and urgent steps are being taken to provide alternative arrangements which will improve the situation. Pending the availability of an employment exchange in Tallaght, it is proposed to provide a signing centre in a temporary premises to be located on the Eastern Health Board site adjacent to the health centre, off Main Street, Tallaght. That signing centre will be manned by my Department's staff and will carry out the certification procedures at present performed at Tallaght Garda station. Every effort is being made to have the new signing centre brought into operation at the earliest possible date and there will be no avoidable delay.
