A refund of PRSI contributions paid in error by the employer during the contribution years 1979-80, 1980-81 and 1981-82 was made to the employer of the person concerned on 13 June 1983 and a notification to this effect has issued to the employee. A further refund in respect of the 1982-83 contribution year will be made as soon as the necessary information regarding his employment in that year is received. The application for refund of contributions was made by the employer in February last and regulations governing the return of contributions paid in error provide that an application for such refunds must be made within three years from the end of the contribution year in which such contributions were paid.
