Vol. 343 No. 8

Written Answers. - Lead in Petrol.

600.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy when he expects to have the results of studies on the lead content in petrol which were commissioned by his Department in September 1982; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have not themselves commissioned any studies on the lead content of petrol. A study on this issue in so far as it relates to the Whitegate refinery was, however, commissioned by the Irish National Petroleum Corporation (INPC) in December 1982 and has been carried out by a company with very considerable practical experience of refinery technology. I understand that the results of this study have only just been received by INPC who will now fully consider them. I would expect to be advised of the report's findings in conjunction with the INPC's views on the matter in due course.

den Aire Cosanta an bhfuil aon phleananna ag a Roinn an Ghaeilge labhartha a chur chun cinn sna Fórsaí Cosanta; agus, má tá, an dtabharfaidh sé eolas i dtaobh na bpleananna sin.

Tá aonad faoi leith san Arm — An Chéad Cathlán, Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa, An Ghaillimh — mar aonad a labhraíonn Gaeilge i gcoitinne. Déantar gnó agus traenáil an aonaid sin trí Gaeilge de ghnáth agus reachtítear ranganna Gaeilge don Cathlán chun an teanga d'fheabhsú agus chun na tearmaí míleata a úsáidtear a choimeád suas chun dáta.

Maidir leis an chuid eile den Arm, úsáidtear cuid mhaith Gaeilge ó lá go lá, agus tá áiseanna speisialta ar fáil do phearsanra míleata gur toil leo a gcuid Gaeilge labartha a fheabhsú.
