Vol. 344 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

660.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a £1,000 new house grant urgently to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry in view of the fact that the regulations governing the two alterations requested to be carried out on the house came into force when the house was completed.

A grant cannot be paid in this case until the house is satisfactorily completed and occupied and complies with all the other conditions of the grant scheme. An inspection on 20 May 1983 established that some work still needed to be carried out on the house. A further inspection is being arranged to review the position. The regulations mentioned by the Deputy have been in force since the present scheme was introduced.

661.
