As indicated in my reply to a somewhat similar question by the Deputy on 2 June 1983, applications for transfer are dealt with by each Department in accordance with arrangements agreed under the Conciliation and Arbitration Scheme. I am, therefore only in a position to indicate the number of applications for transfer to County Galway made by staff in my Department and in the Office of the Civil Service Commission. These total five and have been forwarded to Departments with offices in County Galway. The earliest application was made just over two years ago.
