Vol. 344 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Roscommon Cattle Inspection.

895.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state in regard to the non-approval of the scheme for the expansion of the cattle breeding herd the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon was requested to gather cattle for inspection and ear punching.

The person named was deemed ineligible for payment under the 1982 scheme of assistance for the expansion of the cattle breeding herd because he had no borrowings or inputs as required by that scheme. An inspection of his herd was carried out because the local office of my Department understood that the person named had overlooked giving details of borrowings on his application and that he would produce evidence of borrowings later. In the event, he did not do so.
