Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Offaly Firm.

763.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will confirm that no tender from a firm (details supplied) in County Offaly will be accepted by his Department while the company are in official dispute with the ITGWU.

There are no tenders on hand at present or expected from the firm in question. An industrial dispute in a tendering firm would not be regarded as a disqualifying factor in the acceptance of tenders by the Department in normal course although the existence of a dispute would be taken into account where, for example, delivery was urgently required or where there was reason for believing that the "fair wages" provision of contract terms was not being complied with.
