Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - Youghal (Cork) School.

1024.

asked the Minister for Education if she intends to maintain two teachers at the South Abbey national school, Youghal, County Cork; and, if not, the reason.

A temporary assistant teacher for South Abbey national school was approved as an exceptional matter for the school year 1982-83 on the understanding that pupil numbers would increase to justify the appointment under the rules.

The case is at present being re-examined in the light of present and future enrolment trends and a decision will be conveyed to the chairman of the board of management as soon as possible.
