asked the Taoiseach the number of tourists who have visited this country annually in each of the past 20 years; and the approximate percentage from England, the European Continent and the United States.

The available information for the whole period 1963-1981 relates the estimated numbers of visitors classified by route of travel rather than by country of permanent residence. These estimates are given in table 1. In table 2 estimates of visitors classified by country of permanent residence are given for the years for which this information is available. Data for the year 1982 are not yet available.
