Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - Limerick Road Prohibition Order.

677.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he proposes to confirm a prohibition order which was made three years ago by Limerick Corporation in respect of Childers Road, Limerick.

The prohibition order referred to by the Deputy is designed to prohibit the erection or retention of temporary dwellings in the area specified in the order, including Childers Road, and I have before me an application made in pursuance of section 31 (3) (a) of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1948, for the annulment of the order. Arising from this application, I am in communication with the local authority as to the implications of the order in relation to persons who are, in fact, camping within the area specified and I will make a decision in the matter as soon as possible.
