Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. Payment of the mortgage subsidy cannot commence until the grant has been paid and at least 12 months has elapsed from the date of execution of the mortgage deed.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is satisfactorily completed and occupied and complies with all other conditions of the grant scheme. The file is with the inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to approve a £3,000 mortgage subsidy for a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A £3,000 mortgage subsidy has been approved in this case.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection for a house improvement grant will take place for a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

An inspection with a view to the approval of a grant will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite the payment of a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon as it has been approved.

A grant will be paid when an inspection which will be carried out shortly, establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

On receipt of notification of completion of work an inspection will be arranged with a view to the payment of the grant.

The application in this case has been refused because the works proposed did not come within the scope of the house improvement grants scheme. The applicant has been so informed.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The application in this case was refused on 18 March 1983 on the basis that, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced prior to an inspection of the house.

However, the applicant's entitlement to a grant for bathroom fittings is being reviewed and he will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
