Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Redundancy Payments.

734.

asked the Minister for Labour if former employees of a company (details supplied) in Tallaght, County Dublin, have received redundancy payments.

Under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1979, the obligation to pay a redundancy lump sum to a redundant worker rests primarily with the employer, who is obliged to notify my Department of proposed redundancies. The company in question have notified my Department of such redundancies. According to information notified to my Department statutory lump sums have already been paid to most of these employees.

Any former employee of this company who considers that he-she has an entitlement to a statutory redundancy lump sum payment but did not receive it should get in touch with the redundancy section of my Department which will advise himher as to procedures to be followed in pursuing a claim under the Acts.
