asked the Minister for Defence (a) whether provision will be made to accommodate the officers, stores and magazine of the local FCA unit in the proposed new military barracks at Drumellis, Cavan; (b) the exact position in regard to the acquisition of the Drumellis site; and (c) the year in which it is proposed to commence building.

As indicated in reply to a previous question on 22 March 1983, a site for the proposed new military post at Cavan is being acquired. The site in question which is at Pollamore Far is being obtained in exchange for a site at Drumellis owned by my Department. It is expected that the exchange will shortly be completed.
Details of the buildings etc. to be erected on the site have not yet been decided. Arrangements for building will be made when the necessary planning has been completed and financial resources allow.
