Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - Forest Parks.

740.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the number of forest parks under his control which charge an entrance fee; and the amount collected in each of the past two years.

Public access to forest parks and other State forest amenity areas throughout the country is free. However, at the forest parks a small charge is imposed on car owners at busy week-ends and goes towards the cost of providing car-parking and supervisory facilities. The approximate amounts collected from this source in 1981 and 1982 were £27,000 and £38,000 respectively.
