As I promised in my reply to the debate on the Defence Estimate for 1983, I have initiated an examination of the question of the wearing of the Sam Browne belt by officers and senior non-commissioned officers of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil.
My Department's examination of the matter is proceeding and I will communicate with the Deputy when a decision has been reached.
