asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals his Department have for the provision of a new bridge over the Garavogue river in Sligo.

Sligo Corporation have made an application under the Local Government Act, 1946, for a bridge order for the construction of a new four lane bridge, including approach roads, over the Garavogue River in the Vicinity of Queen's Store Road. In February 1983, the corporation were asked to clarify the proposals regarding the southern road approach to the bridge site. A recent reply from the corporation is now being examined in my Department.

592.

asked the Minister for the Environment when approval for the tenders for the (i) Lough Easkey and (ii) Lough Talt water schemes will be granted.

I recently approved the acceptance by Sligo County Council of a tender for Stage I, Phase 2, of the Lough Talt water supply scheme. Tenders for Lough Easkey water supply scheme were submitted to my Department by Sligo County Council on 5 May 1983 and are under examination. I am not in a position at present to say when a decision thereon will issue to the local authority.
