Vol. 345 No. 6

Written Answers. - Clonakilty (County Cork) Library.

234.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the commencement of work on the second phase of the new regional library in Clonakilty, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Technical approval issued to Cork County Council in September 1982 to their proposals for the conversion of the Old Mill, Clonakilty for use as a library.

Sanction for the raising of a loan of £50,000 issued to Cork County Council in November 1982 for the re-roofing of the building. It was necessary that this work be carried out urgently to prevent deterioration of the walls.

It is understood that the council now propose a revision of the plan to incorporate urban district council offices in the building. The submission of revised plans to my Department for this is awaited.
