Written Answers. - Defence Forces.

230.

asked the Minister for Defence when compensation will be paid in respect of an accident involving a member of the Defence Forces (details supplied) in 1977.

A gratuity of one year's pay due under the Defence Forces (Pensions) Schemes has been paid to the next-of-kin of the person concerned. An additional claim for compensation was made by the next-of-kin. The Chief State Solicitor has been in communication with the claimant's solicitors with a view to bringing the case to an early conclusion.
