My Department have asked the Commissioners of Public Works to prepare revised sketch plans for the proposed extension to Portlaoise No. 2 national school, Portlaoise, County Laois, and the report of the Commissioners is awaited. I am asking the Commissioners to expedite the matter as much as possible.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed extension and the provision of an additional all-purpose room to the boy's national school, Ferbane, County Offaly.
My Department have under consideration at present the views expressed by the chairman of the school board of management regarding proposals put forward for the adaptation and renovation of facilities at Ferbane boys national school, County Offaly.
A review of enrolment trends at this school is currently being undertaken and an officer of my Department will shortly be having further discussions with the chairman.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of a new national school for Emo, Portlaoise, County Laois.
My Department await notification from their legal adviser that satisfactory title to the site of the proposed new national school for Emo, Portlaoise, County Laois, has been established. Meanwhile, the Commissioners of Public Works are preparing a revised sketch scheme which will be forwarded as soon as possible for the approval of the chairman of the school's board of management.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed extension to St. Columba's Christian Brothers' school, Tullamore, County Offaly.
The position is that the Manager of Saint Columba's Christian Brothers school, Tullamore, has been authorised to proceed with the preparation of the developed sketch-scheme for the school's building project. The submission of the necessary documentation in this respect is awaited.
