Vol. 346 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

376.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

I understand that the taxpayer submitted a claim to repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment to the inspector of taxes on 15 November 1983. The inspector wrote to the taxpayer on 17 November for further details which are required to enable the claim to be processed. On receipt of the required information, the claim will be dealt with and any refund due will be made.

377.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the long delay in refunding PAYE income tax to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry, arising out of his employment with the post office engineering branch in the Killarney area.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised that, on the basis of the information supplied, they are unable to trace the taxpayer in their records. If the name of the tax office which deals with the affairs of the taxpayer and the appropriate serial number are supplied, the matter will be examined.
