Vol. 347 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Refund.

264.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork and the reason for the delay.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the claim for repayment of tax was received on 24 August 1983 and the inspector of taxes wrote to the taxpayer for particulars necessary to process the claim. To date, this information has not been provided.

It is now understood that the taxpayer will be resuming employment shortly and the inspector will issue a certificate of tax-free allowances on a non-cumulative week-one basis. The inspector is writing to the taxpayer for the particulars required to enable a cumulative certificate to be issued and any tax overdeducted will be refundable by the employer on operation of this certificate.
