Vol. 347 No. 3

Written Answers. - Camolin (County Wexford) Wheelchair Association.

280.

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider making grant aid available to Camolin Wheelchair Association, County Wexford in respect of the purchase of a bus specially adapted to transport its members, the cost of which was £20,000; as this association is funded solely by voluntary subscription and accommodates 53 members; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The payment of grants to local voluntary organisations is normally made at health board level. It is open to the Camolin Wheelchair Association to apply to the South-Eastern Health Board for assistance towards the cost of purchasing an adapted bus for their members. To date no such application has been received by the board from the association.
