Vol. 347 No. 3

Written Answers. - Sligo General Hospital.

281.

asked the Minister for Health when work will begin on the very necessary extension to Sligo General Hospital.

The capital allocation in 1984 allows for on-going planning for the development of Sligo General Hospital. Planning is proceeding on the reduced scheme agreed last September with the NorthWestern Health Board, including the development of Stage 3 plans (sketches) for the areas which needed revision.

Details of a medium-term health capital programme are at present under review. A decision on the starting date for construction of this development will be taken in the light of this review. I will communicate with the Deputy when the review is completed.
