Vol. 348 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Refund.

389.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment on 30 August 1983 and submitted a claim for repayment of tax, on grounds of unemployment, on 2 November 1983.

A return form for 1983-84 was issued on 3 November to enable the claim to be processed on the basis of all allowances and reliefs due but the form has not yet been returned by the taxpayer. The claim was, however, dealt with on the basis of the available information and a cheque for the amount repayable will be issued shortly.

When the taxpayer submits the completed return for 1983-84, his case will be reviewed and any further necessary adjustments made.
