Vol. 348 No. 5

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher.

533.

asked the Minister for Education if she will treat the request for a remedial teacher by the parents and board of management of a school (details supplied) in Dublin 9 as a matter of urgency.

The applications of schools for remedial teaching posts are examined by my Department and posts are allocated to the schools from the available allocation of teachers in accordance with a priority of need. Following careful consideration, the application from the school in question was not placed sufficiently high in order of priority of need to warrant the allocation of a post in the school-year 1983-84. The application will be reconsidered in the circumstances of the 1984-85 school-year.
