asked the Minister for Education the position in relation to grants for an extension to Buna-curry national school, Achill Sound, County Mayo.

My Department are currently considering a sketch scheme for the extension to Bunacurry national school, Achill Sound, County Mayo, with a view to sanctioning a grant for the project and to the further necessary steps in the architectural planning being undertaken. My Department hope to be in touch with the school authorities about the matter in the near future.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to proposals for the development of Sancta Maria College, Louisburgh, County Mayo.

An extension to Sancta Maria College, Louisburgh, County Mayo, has been approved. Achitectural planning has been completed and the bills of quantities are under examination in the Department. If the bills are found to be satisfactory the next step would be the seeking of tenders. However, pending completion of a review of the building programme for second level schools in the context of capital availability, I am not in a position to say when the extension to this school may be released to tender.
