asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the amount of money that was contributed to the Third World in 1983; and the amount that will be contributed in 1984.

The amount of money contributed as official development assistance to the Third World in 1983 was £29.971 million or 0.23 per cent of our GNP. The provision in 1984 for official development assistance is £33.801 million. Details of the 1983 and 1984 figures are given in the following table.
