Vol. 348 No. 10

Written Answers - County Carlow School Grants.

350.

asked the Minister for Finance when the final moiety of the school grant for Ballinabrannagh and Old Leighlin, County Carlow, national schools will be paid.

As I indicated in my reply to a parliamentary question by the Deputy on 24 November 1983, all grant moneys due to the reverend manager of Ballinabrannagh national school, County Carlow, have been paid to him. The Commissioners of Public Works are still awaiting the details referred to in my reply without which no further grant moneys can be paid. The commissioners have been in correspondence with the manager and explained matters fully to him.

A further substantial grant payment in respect of the works carried out at Old Leighlin national school, County Carlow, was made in January 1984 based on the terms of the original sanction by the Department of Education. The Department have since increased the grant and the appropriate payment will be made to the manager at an early date.
