Vol. 349 No. 4

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payment.

506.

asked the Minister for Labour the reason a redundancy payment has not been made to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3; and the action he can take to ensure that the payment is made without further delay.

The Employment Appeals Tribunal decided on 17 January 1984 that the person concerned was dismissed from his employment by reason of redundancy and was entitled to a redundancy lump sum.

As efforts to secure payment of the lump sum from the employer concerned have not been successful, the employee can now apply for payment of the full amount from the redundancy fund. My Department are writing to the person concerned advising him to make application for payment from the fund and enclosing the necessary forms and explanatory booklet. Payment will be made without delay as soon as the necessary application is received.
