Vol. 349 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Refund.

444.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a tax refund has not been granted to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the amount of money that he will receive in the refund; the date on which he will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes wrote to the taxpayer on 18 October 1983 for the particulars necessary to review his liabilities for the years 1981-82 and 1982-83. Full details of his employment position for the year 1981-82 have not as yet been provided by the taxpayer and the inspector will now write to him again in the matter. On the basis of the information available to the inspector, there is no refund due for the year 1982-83 or 1983-84.
